Donation FAQ
Stepping Stones International Ministry is committed to stewarding all gifts with integrity and in alignment with our mission to publish and translate Christian content for unreached people groups online.
1. Purpose
This policy outlines the types of gifts we accept and the general conditions under which they are accepted. It is intended to protect the integrity of both the donor and the ministry.
2. Accepted Gift Types
We currently accept the following types of gifts:
- Online donations via credit/debit card (processed securely through Stripe)
- Recurring monthly donations via Stripe
- Checks (accepted in person only at events or meetings)
- Non-cash gifts (e.g., stocks, mutual funds, cryptocurrency) may be considered on a case-by-case basis and require prior approval. Please contact us at [email protected].
3. Currency
All donations are processed in U.S. dollars (USD). International donors may give using supported credit/debit cards, and Stripe will handle currency conversion as applicable.
4. Tax-Deductibility
As of now, donations are not tax-deductible.
Stepping Stones International Ministry has applied for 501(c)(3) status. Upon approval, donors will be notified, and if retroactive status is granted by the IRS, past donations may become deductible.
5. Restrictions on Gifts
We reserve the right to respectfully decline any gift that:
- Is not aligned with our mission or values
- Poses an undue financial or administrative burden
- Comes with restrictions we cannot reasonably fulfill
6. Acknowledgment
All donors receive an email confirmation of their gift. For recurring donations or complex gifts, we may follow up with additional information or acknowledgments as appropriate.
7. Donor Privacy
We do not sell, rent, or share donor information with third parties. All personal and payment information is securely processed and managed.

Not yet — but we’re working on it.
Stepping Stones International Ministry has applied for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in the United States. While we await official approval, donations are not currently tax-deductible. Once approved, we will notify all donors. If the IRS grants retroactive status (which is common), your gift may become deductible at that time.
Yes. You’ll receive an email confirmation from us (or from Stripe) immediately after donating. If our 501(c)(3) status is approved, we will follow up with an updated tax-deductible receipt, if applicable.
Absolutely. Monthly giving helps us plan and sustain long-term projects. You can select a recurring donation option at checkout.
Recurring donations are processed through Stripe.
You can manage or cancel your recurring gift using the link provided in your email receipt. If you need help, just reach out to us — we’re happy to assist.
Because we don’t store your personal billing information in our system, we’re unable to modify or update existing recurring donations.
To change your giving amount, simply:
- Cancel your current recurring donation (you can do this from your original Stripe email receipt).
- Start a new donation with your updated amount at our donation page.
We know it's a small extra step, but it helps us keep your data private and secure.
Yes — at in-person events only.
We currently accept checks in person at events or meetings, but we do not accept mailed checks at this time. We plan to open a mailing address for donations in the near future.
If you'd like to give by check and expect to see us at an event soon, feel free to bring it with you. Otherwise, please consider giving online.
Not at this time.
We don’t currently support in-honor or in-memory donations, but we may add this feature in the future.
Yes. Our payment system is powered by Stripe and uses industry-standard encryption to securely process your information.
None of your credit card or payment details ever touch our servers — everything is handled directly and securely through Stripe.
Stripe powers millions of transactions every day and is the same provider trusted by businesses around the world.
Email Receipt → Manage Your Subscription Link
You will receive email receipts for each transaction through Stripe, a link is provided in the email to manage subscriptions.
We don’t have a system set up for these types of gifts yet, but we’re open to exploring them with you.

Yes, most international cards should work — but donations will be processed in US dollars (USD). Our system is currently set up to display and process donations in USD only. If you are donating from another country, Stripe will handle the currency conversion automatically based on their supported gateways.
